Year 2 have been looking at the suitability of a variety of everyday materials to build a bridge which would allow the 3 Billy Goats Gruff to cross safely over the Troll.

1. Year 2 are studying the Great fire of London. We had a visit from Stafford fire brigade to look at fire engines and emergency services today. The firemen talked about how fire fighters are different today and what they were like 350 years ago.

We looked at the equipment fire fighters keep on board the fire engine.

We know fire fighters today can save people in the water by using ropes and dry suits.

There are lots of tools and equipment which fire fighters use to help them.

Year 2 know that the water fire fighters use nowadays is very powerful.
